These products are a natural extension to our existing product lines. Our Rust Guard Premium™ VCI products are specifically formulated to prevent rust and corrosion on nearly all types of metal parts. This addition to our product line completes the loop from finishing parts to packaging, storage and shipment to your customer rust-free!

Our complete line of Rust Guard Premium™ VCI products are available in VCI poly bags, VCI paper, VCI zipper bags, VCI emitters, VCI Wire, VCI foam, and VCI chipboard, as well as other substrates.

VCI Products

are environmentally friendly, economical, trusted alternatives that solve corrosion problems once and for all. These products are coated with corrosion-inhibiting molecules that move from the carrier – either paper or poly bag – to a metal’s surface to form a thin protective layer that defends against the corrosive nature of oxygen and moisture.

Unlike other rust-prevention methods, the vapors in VCI products have the ability to reach recessed metal surfaces that would otherwise go untouched. They’re formulated to saturate the vapor space quickly, with lasting effects.

So What is VCI?

is an abbreviation for Vapor Corrosion Inhibitor or Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor. These corrosion inhibiting compounds are coated on paper or polyethylene bags, and have sufficient vapor pressure to release molecules into the air. Due to their polarity, the VCI molecules are attracted to the surface of metal, just like a magnet. VCI molecules move from the paper or film directly to the surface of metals. When these compounds come in contact with metal surfaces they form a very thin molecular layer. This thin layer effectively inhibits corrosion on the metal surface by preventing air and moisture from coming in contact with the surface of the metal. The result is Rust-Free parts.

  1. VCI packaging is less expensive than R.P. oils and requires much less labor and time than spraying, dipping or brushing on R.P. oils.
  2. VCI products protect metal parts from corrosion more effectively than conventional corrosion inhibitors such as R.P. oils.
  3. VCI Paper and VCI poly bags are recyclable, greatly reducing disposal costs.
  4. VCI packaging eliminates the disposal costs associated with oily rags and used 55 gallon drums.
  5. VCI paper and VCI poly bags can be imprinted with your company logo, enhancing your company’s image in the eyes of your customers.
  6. When your customers receive your parts protected with VCI packaging, the parts will arrive clean, dry, and corrosion-free, meaning that your customers will no longer have to remove oils and greases. This adds great value to your parts.
  7. VCI products are safe for the health of your employees and the health of our environment.
  8. Unlike R.P. oils, VCI packaging will keep your metal parts rust-free for several years.
  9. VCI packaging improves your company’s image because your customers will clearly see that your company is using the most up-to-date, modern, clean, safe and effective products to protect their parts from rust and corrosion.

Benefits of Using VCI
